Excessive Sweat Production

Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweat production that approximately 5 per cent of the total population suffers from. Hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating can occur in many different parts of the body. Most commonly, hyperhidrosis appears on the hands ( palmar Hyperhidrosis ). The excessive sweating may also occur on the facial area ( facial blushing ) the soles of the feet ( plantar ) and armpits ( Axillary Hyperhidrosis ), Trunk ( Trunk Hyperhidrosis & Thigh Hyperhidrosis ) and other parts of the body. Using deodrant for the body odor and wearing self adhesive pads for armpits , wearing shoe insoles ( fabric sandal liners ) for your perspiring feet causing feet odor is a good idea in summer.

Sweating is necessary in order to naturally and properly regulate body temperature. The secretion of sweat is controlled by a portion of our vegetative nervous system also known as the Sympathetic Nervous System. There are some people, in which this system is working at an accelerated rate or very high activity level, the Sympathetic Nervous System is far more active than is needed to keep a regulated body temperature. This condition is known as Hyperhidrosis.

Many sufferers avoid the company of other people because strong sweating is often associated with insecurity and sloppiness. Loneliness and depression can be the result. Inferiority complexes and fear of meeting other people that might repulse them, lead to isolation and lack of self-confidence. Menopausal hot flashes and excessive weight gain can also cause excessive sweating.

There are new standard of hygienic consciousness. Self adhesive pads for the armpit are easily available in the market that gives a well groomed, and a self-confident feeling for every day. Protecting your clothes from embarrassing perspiration spots and smells. Now you can even wear all those cute summer shoes without fear of slipping or making embarrassing sloshing sound by using shoe insoles for your sweaty shoes.

Treatment options include the following : Antiperspirants , Drugs , Psychotherapy , Alternative Therapy (i.e. Homoeopathy, Massage, Acupuncture, and Phytotherapeutic Drugs, etc.) , Hypnosis , Botox shots is injected into the area where sweating occurs, and in severe cases even surgery like Liposuction is used to scrape out some of the underarm sweat glands .

Hyperhidrosis can be successfully cured by ETS and ETS-C (or ESB) that is by interrupting the sympathetic nervous conduction by clamping with a titanium clip, thereby achieving the therapeutic purpose. No cut of the nervous trunk is performed by the clamping method. This technique possesses reversible potential by the removal of the clip when the patient can not tolerate the postoperative condition. The commonest cause of regret is reflex sweating (also called compensatory sweating). Excessive Hyperhidrosis or Excessive Sweating is not merely a little extra sweating associated with anxiety or physical activity, but occurs to a degree that significantly interferes with social and professional activities.
